LIMOUSIN UNHALTERED FEMALES REALISE UP TO 3,200GNS
WINDYHILL LIMOUSINS LEAD WITH ALL SEVEN TOP PRICES!

It was a fantastic end of year’s trading for Mrs ME Brown’s Windyhill Limousins of Houserigg, Aspatria, Cumbria who breezed into Carlisle with all seven leading prices at a strong sale of Unhaltered Females on Friday 10th December 2004.

89 females (+14 on the year) sold to an average of £1185 (+£35 on the year) with the clearance rate at over 77% of the animals forward.

Windyhill Rustic and her heifer calf, Windyhill Vine

Topping the day’s trade at 3,200gns were two lots from Mrs Brown. The first, Windyhill Rustic, a first calver by Windyhill Joss and out of Summerhill Eveninggold with heifer calf at foot, Windyhill Vine by Ardbrack Seekingthegold, sold PD’d in calf into Henry Ridley’s commercial herd, Woodhall, Wigton, Cumbria.

J Baird, Scarva, Graig Avon, Co Armagh paid the same figure for Windyhill Sara with heifer calf Windyhill Vienna at foot and PD’d in calf to Brayton Tux. Sired by Redstone Lancia and out of Windyhill Nolara, she was another January 2001 born first calver and heads over the water to join Mr Baird’s Sylvandene pedigree herd.

A further 5 lots from Mrs ME Brown made up to 2,500gns. Leading these was Windyhill Roux, born November 2000 and again with heifer calf Windyhill Vaux at foot. Once more by senior herd sire Windyhill Joss and out of Molyneux Elaine, she ran with Brayton Tux and was offered guaranteed in calf. Purchasers at 2,500gns were Messrs JJ & BA Smith, Priestfield Farm, High Blantyre, Glasgow.

Redstone Lancia daughter Windyhill Ruth out of dam Windyhill Gina sold to an undisclosed buyer for 2,100gns. A July 2000 second calver, she was presented PD’d in calf to Brayton Tux and with her 6 month old heifer calf Windyhill Vizette at foot.

Two lots went for 2,000gns apiece. The cracking outfit of Windyhill Rousse with her bull calf at foot, Windyhill Viz, sold into R& J Milroy’s Cairnvalley herd, Barr, Givan. By Windyhill Joss and out of Hallingbury Abbie she ran with Ardbrack Seekingthegold and Brayton Tux and again was presented PD’d in calf.

Windyhill Shiraz went under the hammer once more to Henry Ridley, again for 2,000gns. A November 2000 born first calver by Redstone Lancia and out of the prolific Molyneux Elaine, she was offered with heifer calf at foot, Windyhill Vaz, an Ardbrack Seekingthegold son.
