TREMENDOUS SHOW OF LIMOUSIN BULLS SELLS TO 31,000gns

Wilodge Thumper

Wilodge Thumper topped the Limousin Society Sale at Carlisle on Saturday when he sold to 31,000gns for Christine Wiiliams and Richard Bartle of Lodge Hill farm, Shifnal, Shropshire.

This much admired bull, a son of Nouvelle Prospect and out of the French bred cow Mascotte, had won his class in the previous day's judging and sold to Robert Hutchinson to join his Beaconsfield herd at Greenhill farm, Balderton, Newark.

The Supreme Champion of the two day event, Goldies Tony, sold for 16,000gns. Shown by Jim Goldie and family of Townfoot, Mouswald, Dumfries, he was knocked down to J Handley of the Gunnerfleet herd based at Ingleton.

Also selling for 16,000gns was Dyfri Tanner from Messrs Edwards of Home Farm, Llandovery. Tanner, already with show credits to his name from winning the Junior Championship at the 2003 Royal Welsh Show, sold to the partnership of J Burnett & Sons, Upper Spittalton, Stirling and J H Mitchell, Clarkton Farm, Stirling.
