The Scottish female of the year 2000, Ronick Marg,
attracted the top price tag of 5,500gns at the Smithston pedigree
Limousin herd dispersal sale for Messrs JM Smillie, Patna, Ayrshire,
on Thursday 28th August 2003 at Borderway Mart, Carlisle.

Ronick Marg, a Broadmeadows Cannon daughter and her
December 2002 born bull calf, Smithston Topgun, sold for 5,500gns.
Marg carries an illustrious show career to her credit which she
now takes with her to new owner Raymond Savage of Glenavy, Co.Antrim,
N.Ireland.
Following in mothers footsteps with showring success
was Smithston Princess and her heifer calf at foot Smithston Twiggy
selling for 5,300gns. Princess, a Talent daughter and out of Marg,
was knocked down to Rodger Chadwick of Cronk Breck Farm, Greeba,
Isle of Man.
The next price to follow was 4,800gns for Smithston
Penny a big powerful cow by Ronick Idol. She sells with her January
2003 born bull calf at foot Ufo to Harry Emslie Farms Ltd of Brae
of Coynach, Peterhead, Aberdeenshire.
Another Broadmeadows Cannon daughter, Smithston Nina
and out of an Ami bred Marnhull cow, she sold with her heifer calf,
Trina, for 4,000gns to Roger Chadwick of Cronk Breck Farm, Isle
of Man.

Also selling for 4,000gns was one of the herds stock
bulls, Dyfri Riogrande. A son of Jockey and out of a Rake Denver
daughter, he carries an EBV of LM +31. He was secured by W Barr
& Co of Thirlstane, Lauder, Berwickshire.
Following on close behind at a price of 3,800gns
was another Ronick Marg daughter, Smithston Toygirlfour. She was
one of 5 embryos heifers bred from Marg with Talent as their sire.
She was sold to an undisclosed Northern Ireland breeder.
