TUTOR LEADS THE WAY The long journey north paid dividends for London based breeders E & A Stubbs when their bull Totteridge Tutor sold for 4,400gns on Friday 12th March 2004. By their home bred bull Nathan and out of an Apricot bred daughter, Tutor sold locally to G Johnston & Son of Orton Hall, Carlisle. The youngest bull in the sale, and the event's Overall Male Champion, Doncombe Ularit, from David Knight of Woodlands Farm, Nr. Chippenham, sold for 3,800gns to S T Gardner of Fairsnape, Nr. Preston. Ularit is sired by the herd's stock bull Druk Lance, and is bred back to a Blackwars daughter. The Elite show and sale of females was led by Whitefield Toyha from Society Chairman Eric Mutch of Burnside of Whitefield, Forglen, Banff and sold for 2,200gns to N C Roberts of Heckingham Hall, Norwich. Close behind her, selling for 2,000gns, was the event's Elite Female Champion from Andrew & Carol Stott of the Hilltop herd, based near Glasgow. Their stylish maiden heifer, Hilltop Tansy, by Kinaston Nyle, already has a successful show career to her credit from the 2003 show season.
