Demand was good and more service age bulls were being sought by buyers. Only seven lots were not sold. Top price male, at 3300 gns, was paid by R. Lovett, Fields Farm, Measham, Derbyshire for Marston Mill Utah, a Grangour Osprey son. The Docombe herd of David Knight realised 2200gns for their Doncombe Rangatira son Tiberius, who had a beef value of BA23, putting him in the top 20% of the breed. He was purchased by Messrs H&W Dart, South Molton, Devon. G.Collins, of Gore Cross Farms, Devizes, Wilts purchased three bulls on the day. The first, at 2000gns, was from N. Haines and D. Knight, Retyn Tarquin who is a son of the popular Druk Lance. At 1600gns from I & S Archer was Marston Mill Senator and at 1500gns Bilsington Titan from P.A de Giles. Top price female was for the served heifer Marston Mill Toria, selling at 1300gns to Mr F. Burton from Ashbourne, Derbyshire. The same buyer also paid 1250gns Marston Mill Melody and at the same price was Marston Mill Perky, with calf at foot, who sold to Mr D. Hazel of Malmesbury, Wilts.
