‘Edenvalley Vixen’ Tops 3800gns at
Borderway Premier Blue Female Sale
Judge, Richard Bartle, from Shifnal, Shropshire, put up as his Supreme Champion and winner of the “Norbreck Havana Perpetual Trophy,” “Beckfarm Vicky,” a ‘Seduisant De Fooz’ daughter, out of ‘Beckfarm Rose’. She was exhibited by R F & A Tyson, Millom, Cumbria. “Beckfarm Vicky” was passed out of the ring, unsold, at 4,200 gns. The Reserve Supreme Champion rosette and class winner was awarded to a stylish heifer “Springfield Unella ET” presented by Anita Padfield, by ‘Visconti De St Fontaine’, out of ‘Springfield Pepsi ET’. This went on to be knocked down to R Barker, Bewcastle, Carlisle for 3,600 gns. In the Intermediate Heifer class, Messrs. Ridley’s “Wood
Hall Vicky ET” claimed the red rosette, sired by ‘Gib Van
Het Negenbond’ and out of ‘Histoire D’Au Chene’.
She was knocked down to Nether Hall Farms Ltd, Carnforth at 2,800 gns.
From the same stable “Wood Hall Viola” was sold for 3,200
gns to Gavin Boocock, Driffield, Yorkshire. Junior Heifer “Annanwater
Verona ET” claimed first in her class, making 2,900 gns to new
breeder, R J Mowbray, Newtonstewart, Northern Ireland. Glen Forsyth’s “Tamhorn
Tess ET”, taking first prize in the Senior Cow class.
Auctioneer, David Dickinson, commented, “There was
a very keen demand for quality animals, with a number of potential purchasers
going home empty handed.” “ There were a number of good quality
animals, which made a good trade on the day. It was nice to see females
showing scale and growth with good mobility” said judge, Richard
Bartle. |
