New Record set at Carlisle for Belgian Blues

Park U Bouncer

A new breed record of 12,000gns was set at the Border Belgian Blue Club's spring show and sale. Local breeders Messrs Stoddart of Hillside, Wigton, obtained the top price with their March 2002 born bull, Park U Bouncer. Sired by Greystone Poncho and out of Park Opal, a Cowden Landlord daughter, he was successfully bought by RE Miller of West Farm, Aspatria, Carlisle.

The supreme champion of the two day event, Black n Blue Union Jack, bred and owned by Sally Lloyd of Stonycroft Farm, Leominster, notched up the next leading price tag of 9,000gns. A son of Jiosco de Focant and bred from a Ridge Dean cow, he sold to Messrs J Nelson & Sons of Bull and Cave Farm, Clapham.
