NIGHTINGALE AA FEMALES HEAD ANGUS TRADE AT CARLISLE SETTING NEW CENTRE RECORD
This very correct powerful March 2000 born daughter of MVBL Lancer 9F(imp) sold in calf to the homebred bull, Nightingale Prince Jet C154, and was successfully bought by The Scottish Coal Company of Castle Bridge, Nr Alloa. The same buyers also paid 6,500gns to secure Nightingale Lady Connie A056 from Mr & Mrs Robertson. Connie, a February 2001 daughter of HF Data Bank 2H (imp), carried a beef value of AA+33 and also sold in calf to Prince Jet C154. A much sought after family from the Nightingate herd was the Tibbie’s. Selling for 2,500gns was Nightingale Tibbie Z004, an in calf cow carrying her fourth calf due to Nightingale Garfield, she was a daughter of MVF Tibbie 1Z who was female of the year in Canada before being imported to UK. Tibbie was knocked down to R Rutherford & Sons of Old Town Farm, Hexham. Heading the collective bull section was the reserve male champion, Curzon Proud George from DC Moss & son of Glebe Farm, Notts. With a beef value of AA+27, Proud George a March 2003 son of Dalrene Cruz was sold for 3,500gns to J Tinning of Burnfoot, Longtown, Carlisle. In the collective female classes the female champion sold for 1,800gns. Yearsley Polly from TA & P Johnson of Brandsby, York, sold carrying her eighth calf to JD Goddard of Monybuie Farm, Castle Douglas. Also on offer this day was the reduction sale from the Sagar Fold herd of TD Jackson. The top price was 1,400gns for Sagar Fold Ellen A028, a heifer selling with her May 2004 born heifer calf. The outfit was knocked down to D Burns of Meldingscale, Lancaster. Averages: 11 bulls £1,765.91 (plus £54.03) 5 cows served and/or suckling £1,092.00 (plus £103.88) 7 served heifers £862.50 (minus £397.50) 5 maiden heifers £798.00 (plus £248.50) Nightingate Herd (7 females) £3,375.00 Meadowvale Herd (4 females) £1,601.25 Sagarfold Herd 9 cows with calves £854.44, 3 served heifers £980.00, 4 maiden heifers £630.00.
