Bristol Aberdeen Angus Sale Saturday 26th April 2003

A new event for the Aberdeen Angus sales calendar held at the Bristol sales centre, Washingpool, Easter Compton, Bristol with auctioneers Harrison & Hetherington Limited, Carlisle.

Females met with a very respectable trade topping at 1,700gns for Ty-Isha Elvira A014. This Moncur Fergus X4 daughter came from Mr David Evans of Cefn Perthi Farm, Gwent and was successfully purchased by Mr JR Goodclidde, Bryn-Y-Fedwen Farm, Ystradowen, Vale of Glamorgan.

Next in the price line up was Ester of Winwick, an April 1997 daughter of Boult of Winwick, selling with her heifer calf at foot from Mr WA German of Manor House, Winwick, Cambs. The outfit sold at 1,200gns to Messrs Wolfe of Brookfield Farm, Aston End Road, Stevenage, Herts.

Mr JR Goodcliffe also paid 1,100gns to secure Polacairnie of Wulstans, a February 1997 born daughter of Paster WR22 of Newcairnie from Mr JB Ballard of Church Farm, Worcester.

Averages - 2 bulls £962.50, 7 cows served and/or suckling £934.50, 11 heifers served or maiden £777.95.
