BRISTOLS BLACK BONANZA GETS THE THUMBS UP FROM ABERDEEN ANGUS BREEDERS Bristols new Sales centre at Washingpool Farm saw the Aberdeen Angus breed hold their first sale. Females met with a brisk trade selling to 2,400 gns for a very smart heifer from Glympton Farms Ltd., Glympton Woodstock, Oxon. This January 2001 daughter of the noted BCC Eileenmere Lad 17F (Imp) and out of Glympton Jace Erica X4 travels to Suffolk to the home of GD & EM Clements, Potash Farm, Donkey Lane, Lawshall, Bury St Edmunds. Miss S A Nicholass, Gentle Moor, Throwleigh Road, Okehampton Devon topped at 2,200gns for one of her consignments with Blackaton Estella Y579, a July 1999 daughter of Broomhill Enchanter, (sire of several good lots in the sale) found her new home with Mr D Ball, Saxon House, Pier Avenue, Southwold, Suffolk. Next in line came Broomhill Lady Harriet Z078 , sole entry from B R Butler, Broomhill Farm, Pancrasweek, Holsworthy, Devon, she changed hands at 2,000gns to Hardwick Farms, Horsecroft, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. Consignors of females went home having enjoyed a very respectable trade, however bulls were harder to cash. Averages Other Cattle |
