KIRKBY STEPHEN COWPER DAY HORSE SALE

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their Annual Cowper Day sale of Horses and Ponies at Kirkby Stephen Mart on Saturday 18th September 2004, with 286 head presented for sale.

As usual a massive crowd of buyers and onlookers decended on the market and created a trememdous atmosphere in and around the sale ring. Many people commented that the sale was ‘the dearest seen for some time’, and this would be a reflection on the quality of the horses forward, many being shown by the breeders or having been reared from foals.

A sale average of 629gns was recorded, significantly up on the year.
