At the special December sale of Horses and tack, Harrison & Hetherington Ltd presented 174 horses and 184 lots of tack. As usual a large crowd attended, trade, however, was not as strong as witnessed at the ‘Cowper Day’ Sale.

Leading prices: 3 year old colts 580 gns, 500 gns, 2 year old colts 500 gns, 4 year old mares 1020 gns, Black & White filly 600 gns. In foal mares 1000 gns, Stallions 500 gns, Colt foals 240 gns

KIRKBY STEPHEN COWPER DAY HORSE SALE

Forward at the annual “Cowper Day” sale was 308 horses and 250 lots of tack. This sale continues to increase in popularity,with the largest entry since the sale was resurrected some years ago. Prices rose on average from the previous year to level at £420.52 per head an increase of £115.67.

KIRKBY STEPHEN SPRING HORSE SALE

Harrison & Hetherington, Kirkby Stephen had forward 105 Horses and Ponies, 1 Donkey and 259 lots of Saddlery, Harness & Tack at the special spring sale on Saturday 26th April 2003.

The first ever spring sale proved a startling success with one of the largest offerings of horses and tack witnesed this season by a vast crowd of purchasers and onlookers verging on the capacity of the mart.
