HORSES & PONIES also TACK
Saturday 16th December 2006
Harrison & Hetherington
Limited held their first Christmas sale for horses and ponies,
also tack at Borderway Mart, Carlisle on Saturday 16th December
2006.
This new
event attracted an enormous attendance of buyers and enthusiasts
who came to see the catalogued entry of 110 horses and ponies along
with an array of tack come under the hammer.
The sale
ring for horses and ponies soon filled to capacity as the sale
got under way. The leading price of the section was a 7 year old
chestnut mare shown by Fiona MacIntyre of Coylton, Ayrshire. Bambi
as she was known, is a very talented jumper, and went on to sell
for 1,850gns.
Selling
for 1,800gns was an early entry into the sale ring, a bay gelding
known as Prince who was exhibited by Miss E Richardson of Lockerbie,
Dumfriesshire.
Another
gelding took the next price tag at 1,700gns. Little Coco, a 16hh
dun horse, was shown by Helen Fenwick of Gosforth, Seascale.
A grey
filly attracted much interest. Sophie was consigned by borders
enthusiast Jenna Hickson of Jedburgh and sold for 1,600gns.
The
next horse and pony sale is scheduled to take place on Saturday
17th March.
Eric the donkey gelding from Ronnie Mawbray, of Houghton, Carlisle,
helped up his price to 340gns when he brayed in the ring at the
first Christmas sale of horses, ponies and tack at Borderway.
