LAZONBY MULE GIMMER LAMBS
Wednesday 14th September 2005

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their opening sale of Mule Gimmer lambs at Lazonby mart on Wednesday which saw an entry of 5,425 head. The pre-sale show of NEMSA members lambs was very kindly sponsored by Skelton Agricultural Show and judged by Messrs G & A Jackson, Kings Meaburn who made the following awards:

1st & Joe Armstrong Memorial Cup – J Lee, Morley Hill, Whitfield

2nd – W & I Watson & Son, Sanders Close, Alston

3rd – G R Wharton & Sons, Keisley, Murton

4th – T Carrick & Sons, High Crossgill, Alston

Champion pen of lambs with from left to right Mr Charles Lee, representing the vendor Mr J Lee, Mr Brian Armstrong, presenting the Joe Armstrong Memorial Cup, Mr Andrew Jackson and Mr Gordon Jackson, the judges.

A mixed entry for quality saw good runs receive keen bidding whilst smaller and lesser quality lambs were harder to sell.
