LAZONBY MULE SHEARLING GIMMERS

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their Great Annual Sale of Mule Gimmer Shearlings & Mule 2 shear Ewes at Lazonby Mart on Thursday 8th September, where there was an entry of 8,462 head. Quality was high in the pre-sale show, which was kindly sponsored by Jobsons Farm Health & Barclays Bank Plc. The judge Mr N Haynes, Towcester awarded the following results:-

1st & M J Davidson Memorial Trophy – Mr W L Grainger, Eamont Bridge - £140

2nd G Rylands, Spedding Farm - £130

3rd P J Elliott, Bank House - £130

4th H G Jackson, Littlebeck - £118

No fewer than 32 pens sold at £100 or more to produce a sale average of £88.50, £1 down on the year. With regular customers returning to this sale year on year, confidence appears good for the Autumn period.
