HORNED EWE SALE

On Monday 19th September 2005, Harrison & Hetherington conducted their annual sale of Horned ewes also their second main sale of Mule Gimmer Shearling plus continental shearling gimmers and breeding ewes.

Interest for all classes of sheep was excellent with prices well up to vendors expectations. In the horned ewe sale the top price was £82 for a good pen of Swaledale gimmers from Messrs Bell of Low Houses, Low Row.

In the Mule gimmer shearling section the top price was £80 for a pen of powerful sheep from Mr Armstrong of Leona Villa, Longtown.

Other breeding ewes were a good quality selection selling to a top of £67 for Texels from Mr Renwick of Brampton.
