Lazonby Mule Gimmer Lambs

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held the annual Alston Moor sale of 17,070 Mule Gimmer lambs at Lazonby mart on Wednesday 29th September 2004 where the entire entry sold to a marvelous trade and stayed level all day long.

All classes, from the top lambs to the runners were keenly contested by a mass of buyers who had travelled from all over the UK, this resulted in a sale average of £71.51, which was an increase of £1.94 on the year, this included an extra 2,000 lambs sold.

Top price of the day went to the Champion pen of lambs in the NEMSA prize show, kindly sponsored by Novartis Animal Health Ltd, Livestock Scanning – L A Smith and HSBC Bank Plc, and was awarded to Messrs G R Wharton & Sons, Keisley selling at £155 to Mr Cecil Hutchinson, closely followed at £150 by a tremendous pen from Mr M Wallace, purchased by Mr James Winter.
