LAZONBY MULE SHEARLING GIMMERS

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their annual show and sale of 9,090 Mule gimmer shearlings and 790 Mule 2 shear ewes at Lazonby Mart on Thursday 10th September 2004.

A marvellous show was put out for judging on the morning of the sale, which was generously sponsored by Jobsons Animal Health and Barclays Bank.

Judging was carried out by Mr D Capel, Somerset, who has now been a regular customer at Lazonby mart for 50 years. The champion pen receiving the M J Davidson Memorial Trophy was consigned by Mr W L Grainger, Eamont Bridge which sold for £142 each to Ron & Fran Wilson, Armathwaite.

3rd – Mr W L Grainger, Eamont Bridge - £120
4th – Mrs E D Davidson, Spedding Farm - £120

Trade for shearlings was on a high note, with Lazonby once again a magnet for customers from all over the country. The 2 shear ewes sold particularly well, with all vendors delighted with prices achieved.
