ANNUAL SALE OF MULE EWE LAMBS

On Friday 10th September 2004, Harrison & Hetherington
Ltd held their annual prize show and sale of 10,379 NEMSA mule gimmer
lambs
and 124
shearlings.
A total clearance was effected to a packed ringside of purchasers comprising
numerous new customers. The average price of £67.43 was down £7.42
on the year.
The show held on the previous evening was well supported with an outstanding
number of 'top' quality lambs. The show sponsors were Eden
Farm Supplies Brough Ltd., Carrs Billington Askrigg, Pye Bibby Agriculture
and Dugdale Nutrition.
The judges were Mrs J Sedgewick, Mr P Cornelius and Mr C Hutchinson who
made the follwing awards:-
Class 1 (open to all vendors)
1st, and Overall Champion, winning the C Jackson Cup, The Mart Cup and
NEMSA Rosette - Messrs Lord, West Dowgill - £240 to J Sedgewick.
2nd, Reserve Champion - Messrs H R Hayton & Son, Asby Grange - £200
to A M & H V Brown.
3rd – W M Hutchinson & Sons, Redgate - £175 to Mr M Allen.
4th – G P Taylor & Sons, Swathburn - £160 to A M & H

5th – W & C W Dent, Greenriggs - £112 to Messrs Benson.
