“ LATTER FAIR” GREYFACED EWE LAMBS

On Thursday 16th September 2004 Harrison & Hetherington, Carlisle conducted their noted annual Latter Fair show and sale of Greyface ewe lambs when they presented 7650 head to a very packed ring side of buyers local and distant. A pre sale show was conducted by Mr R Wilson & Mr J Winter and refereed by Mr D Hetherington. Fourteen pens of outstanding lambs faced the judges with The Dodd & Co perpetual trophy for the Champion pen being awarded to Mr Brian & Christine Moore of High Side Kellah. The Reserve rosette was presented to Messrs Smith – Jackson of Hightown. Trade was fantastic with running lambs far dearer than expected with the overall average of £69.68 (plus 48p on the year).
