LOCKERBIE EWE LAMBS

Harrison & Hetherington, Lockerbie held their second sale of ewe lambs on Tuesday 9th September 2003, when 2024 sheep were sold.

At the firms principal sale of Cheviot Mule Ewe Lambs, a top price of £82 went to Mr Wills, Underwood, Milburn. The overall average for the Cheviot Mules was £63.74 and many more could have been sold.

Half bred Ewe Lambs were also in big demand selling to £86 for 2 pens from M/s Blair, Dodgsonstown, Roadhead, once again many more could have been sold with 752 averaging £66.51.

Scotch Mule Ewe lambs sold to £59 from Castlemilk Farms, Scalehill.

Half Bred Gimmers sold to £86 from Mr J McTaggart, Dunjop with Cheviot Mules to £85 from Mr G B Milroy, Mains of Machermore, Newton Stewart.

Border Leicester Shearling Rams sold to £550 from M/s Watson, Morton Mains, Thornhill with other from the same home selling to £490. The Border Leicester Shearling average £363.51 per head.
