LAZONBY NORTH OF ENGLAND MULE EWE LAMBS

On Wednesday 17th September 2003, Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Lazonby held the annual show ansd sale of mule gimmer lambs at Lazonby, where there was a very good entry of 5107 head.

As usual this sale attracted customers from all corners of the UK, who ensured lambs sold to a nice trade.

In the show for NEMSA members, the judging was in the very capable hands of Mr Richard Sawbridge, who awarded the Championship and Joe Armstrong Memorial Trophy to Messrs J Lee, Morley Hill these lambs later sold for £160 each.

Other prize awards were as follows, 2nd GP Taylor & Sons, Swathburn, 3rd L & N Smith, Roachburn, 4th T Carrick & Son, High Crossgill.

In general, tupping quality lambs sold well, with smart runners the subject of spirited bidding. In all a sale average of £70.44 was achieved and a large entry is promised for for the next sale.
