CARLISLE EURO BREEDING SHEEP

On Thursday 4th September 2003, Harrison & Hetherington conducted their annual show and sale of Euro breeding sheep at Borderway.

The judging for the show was conducted in a very profesional way by Mr James Whiteford, Tercrosset Farm. Trade was bouyant with prices very much better on the year.

Class 1, Pen of 10 Texel X ewe lambs, 1st Messrs R & J Osborne, Castlehill, Durisdeer. 2nd Mr AG Dempster, Castlehill, Tundergarth. 3rd Messrs R & M Scott, Thirlwall Castle.
Class 2 Pen of 10 Beltex X ewe lambs, 1st Messrs RJ & AY Armstrong, Terrace Farm. 2nd Messrs Fell, Chapel Farm. 3rd Messrs DBD & CA Edgar, Fellside.
Class 3 Pen of 10 Cross ewe lambs sired by any other continental breed, 1st Messrs R Hall & Son, Inglewood Edge. 2nd Mr R McCrone, Beechcroft.
Class 4 Pen of 10 Shearling Gimmers, 1st Messrs R & J Osborne, Castlehill. 2nd Mr A Jackson, Covington Mill. 3rd Clark Farms, North Garngour Farm.
Champion and Reserve Champions Messrs R & J Osborne, Castlehill making £110 and £120.
