Carlisle Early Breeding Ewe Sale

On Friday 1st August 2003, Harrison & Hetherington conducted there first breeding ewe sale of the season, with an outstanding show of 1124 ewes forward trade was brisk as expected with plenty of bidding throughout the sale, with buyers travelling from as far a field as Wales.

The first store lamb sale of the new season saw over a thousand lambs forward to a packed ringside of buyers. Trade was as expected, bouyant with lambs making tremendous prices. Many prospective purchasers went home empty handed and will be back next week to bid again.

Tup purchasers were very selective at the opening sale of the season, Mr Todd, Tiffenthwaite presented a wonderful pen selling to a top of £720 for an exceptional Texel x Beltex shearling ram.
