At St Johns Chapel on Saturday 28th September 2002, Harrison & Hetherington Limited held their annual sale of 3084 uncrossed and crossed Swaledale ewes, gimmer shearlings, gimmer lambs, also wether lambs and rams.

Trade was firm in all departments. Feeding ewes sold to £27.50 averaging £19, crossed Swaledale ewes sold to £50 averaging £35, uncrossed Swaledale ewes sold to £65 averaging £48, Swaledale gimmer shearlings sold to £100 averaging £76, Swaledale gimmer lambs sold to £62 averaging £32.97 and store lambs sold to £42.20 averaging £31.28.
