LAZONBY

On Saturday 5th October 2002, Harrison & Hetherington held their Annual Lazonby and Alston Moor Sale of uncrossed and crossed Swaledale Ewes, Shearlings and Gimmer Lambs at Lazonby Mart, where an entry of 4663 was put before a good crowd af customers.

Strong ewes for crossing purposes sold well. Swaledale Shearlings and lambs met a mixed response, however prices were mostly pleasing to the vendors.

Leading prices:- Uncrossed Swaledale Ewes £80(x2) & £74 Low Crossgill, £75 & £66 High Beckside, £68 Harbour Flatt.

Crossed Swaledale Ewes £58, £48, £47 & £46 High Crossgill, £45 The Knarr, £44 Rotherhope.

Swaledale Shearlings £92, £90, £82, £80 & £78 Hill Farm, £85 Grassfield.

Swaledale Gimmer Lambs £65 & £50 Grassfield, £60 Low Crossgill, £48 Dyke Nook Farm, £46 High Beckside, £46 Rayson Hall.
