On Friday, 1st October 2004 Harrison & Hetherington held their monthly sale of beef breeding cattle. Quality units met with a terrific trade topping at £1620 for a Blonde x heifer and consigned by Messrs Harryman, Keskadale. £1600 was also reached for a marvelous unit consigned by Messrs Crozier, Raggetsyke, Waterbeck. The £1000 barrier was regularly broken, however, secondary sorts were more difficult to cash as buyers were very selective. The bulling heifers ring also followed a similar pattern with good heifers meeting a very keen enquiry whilst inferior sorts were harder to sell.
