On Tuesday 25th November 2003, Harrison & Hetherington Middleton In Teesdale held their annual prize show & sale of Breeding cattle, along with store cattle, 215 head were sold with all classes averaging more than the previous year.

Store heifers sold to £560 averaging £435 (+£52), Limousin stock bull £700. Cows with calves at foot to £2100 averaging £1018.72 (+92p), Heifers with calves at foot to £2350 averaging £1054.29 (+£348.96), In calf Cows to £860 averaged £461.05 (+£159.88), Heifers in calf to £1050 averaged £682.77 (+£42.02).

The show kindly sponsored by Simpson Fuel Oils, was judged by Mr JR Dalton, who from a strong line up of cattle made the folowing awards. 1st CA & JG Skidmore, Needles Hall £1780 to HR Hayton & Son, 2nd CA & JG Skidmore, Needles Hall £1020 to D Ayre.

A feature of the sale was the reduction sale of pedigree and pure Limousin cows with calves on behalf of C & JC Stephenson, Pikestones with twelve families averaging £1515.83.
