On Thursday 22nd May 2003, Harrison & Hetherington conducted their monthly sale of beef breeding cows and heifers with calves or in calf, bulling heifers and bulls.



This sale has a tremendous reputation which was further enhanced with several outstanding consignments of quality calved heifers. Right from the outset wonderful unit after unit broke the £1000 barrier. Purchasers from the length and breadth of the United Kingdom competed strongly as a marvellous trade prevailed.

Top price in the calved heifer section was £1780 for a superb unit consigned by noted breeder Mr B Hall, Ainstable Hall. In the bulling heifer section vendors were astonished at the prices received, a remarkable top price of £800 for a superb pen consigned by sale regular Mr K Muir, Middle Farm, Laithes.
