On Thursday 23rd January 2003, Harrison & Hetherington conducted their opening monthly sale of breeding cows and heifers with calves or in calf and bulling heifers.

A small show of breeding cattle met a large ring of well travelled buyers. Trade was choosey with the best outfits selling very well and an evenly balanced average was maintained. Most attention was being given to the in calf cattle which were in high demand.

Averages- Cows with calves at foot averaged £558.67, Heifers with calf at foot averaged £707.45, In calf cows averaged £490, In calf heifers averaged £592.12, Bulling heifers averaged £459.50.
