On Thursday 23rd May 2002, Harrison & Hertherington held their monthly sale of beef breeding cattle when they presented an entry of 886 cows and heifers with calves or in calf together with 537 bulling heifers.

The sale comprised a large entry of stock drawn from all parts of the UK, and all classes of stock presented comprised a very good quality offering. Buyers were attracted from a wide area and bidding throughout was bouyant, resulting in an excellent trade.

Topping the sale at £1,500 was a Limousin cow with calf consigned by Herries Farms of Bow House Farm, Glencaple, Dumfries.

In the bulling heifer section trade was similar to that of the previous sale with all classes selling well especially for quality well grown pens of heifers.
