At Borderway Mart on Wednesday 22nd February Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of store cattle. A good show of forward, well grown stores were presented to the huge array of prospective purchasers which witnessed a phenominal trade for all classes. Top price of the day was for a Limousin cross bullock from Messrs Routledge, Brackenhill Rigg peaking at £1320. Heifers very easily sold once again and peaked at £1175 for a Parthenais from Messrs Bradley, Marina House, Maryport whilst bulls topped at £1060 from a British Blue cross from Messrs Cowx, Hudscales, Hesket New Market.

On Wednesday 22nd February Harrison & Hetherington Limited held their weekly sale of calves. A fantastic show of 303 calves were forward selling to a terrific ringside of 51 buyers. Continentals met an excellent trade with 22 Limousin bulls averaging £338 and 30 British Blue heifers averaging £314. Top price was £435 for a fabulous British blue calf from Messrs H & EM Hunter Berrier Head, Penrith. Black & White calves maintained the excellent rates of previous weeks topping at £278 from a Montbeliarde bull from Messrs W Swainson & Son, Moor Park, Thurstonfield.
