On Wednesday 16th May Harrison & Hetherington Limited held their weekly sale of calves with a tremendous show of 307 calves forward. Included in the sale was a special Spring show of continental and native bred calves.

The Show was kindly sponsored by Genus and ably judged by Mr John Robson who awarded the Champion prize to a terrific Limousin heifer shown by J W Storey & Son, Wood Head Farm, Haltwhistle which was purchased by Dale Holgate for £525. Reserve Champion was a Limousin bull from T W Hutchinson, Bail Hill Farm, Forest in Teesdale which sold for £500. The trade for all classes of black & white calves averaged £131.37 which topped at £335 for a strong black & white from RH & J Irving, Meinbank, Ecclefechan.
