Welsh breeder Jan Rodenburg of Llandysul, Ceredigion, held his annual production sale of Dutch Texel shearling gimmers and ram from his Turbo flock. Buyers were drawn from Mid Lothian in the north to Welshpool and Gloucester.

The top price of the day was 2,600gns for a March born shearling ram, Turbo Prince. A son of the imported ram, Haringhuizen Haringhuizen and bred from a home bred daughter by Verberne, Prince sold carrying an index of 128 and goes to M Faulder of Beith, Ayrshire.
Also reaching the four figure mark at 1,000gns was another shearling ram, Turbo Pirate. Sired by the homebred ram, Turbo Magnum, and out of an imported ewe by Oosterwolde. This lot sold to local enthusiast Messrs Hall & Son of Ingle wood Edge, Dalston.
A high indexed shearling ram followed next in the price listing at 800gns. Turbo Platinum, bred by Avonhorn Avonhorn and going back to Turbo Kaliber on his mothers pedigee, sold with an index of 195 and was knocked down to JW Crozier of Raggetsyke based near Lockerbie.
Also selling for 800gns was another shearling ram with an index of 101. Turbo Pioneer, an April born entry was sired by Turbo Mr Marmite and out of a Turbo Monarch bred daughter. He sold to JM & CE Mitchell of Tewkesbury, Glos.
Topping the shearling gimmer entries at 780gns was a February born Den Burg King daughter. She is out of a Turbo Motor sired mother and was sold to J Lee & sons of Agars Hills near Hexham.
Another Turbo Mr Marmite sired entry sold for 700gns. This was a gimmer carrying Turbo Monarch on her mothers breeding and was knocked down to S Wilson Ltd of Corby Hill, Carlisle.
Also being sold for 700gns was shearling ram Turbo Pablo. This March born son of Turbo Magnum was sold to DR McIntyre of Kirriemuir, Angus.
