On Wednesday 22nd September 2010 at Lockerbie, Harrison and Hetherington held the annual North Country Cheviot Park and Hill ram sale. Demand was tremendous with an excellent offering presented to a plentiful ringside of buyers.

Leading the sale at £4,000 was a Park ram entry consigned by Messrs CR Graham & Son of Carruthers, Waterbeck, Lockerbie. This entry was knocked down to Mrs Sue Murphy of Gladhouse Cottage, Gorebridge.

Following at £3,700 was another Park ram this time coming from JH Strawhorn & Son of Dalmakether, Lockerbie and sold to G Cormack & Son of Wester Dunnet, Thurso.

Reaching the £3,000 mark was an early entry in the Park section from G Davies & Ptrs of North Synton, Selkirk. This ram was secured by Jane Jackson of Ericstane, Moffat.

Another three entries of Park rams all sold of the £2,000 mark. Two entries from James Runicman & Sons of Allenshaws, Galashiels sold for £2,700 and £2,500, whilst the other entry at £2,200 came from CR Graham & Sons of Carruthers.

The Champion Park ram was shown by Mr G Cormack of Wester Dinnet, Thurso which sold for £1,400 to go to Longoe Farm of Thurso.

The Hill ram entries were topped at £2,800 for an entry coming from Messrs Elliott of Hethpool, Wooler and was knocked down to Messrs Wilson & Sons of Newbank, Beattock.

The last consignor to the sale ring, Messrs Telfer of Branton East Side, Alnwick, secured the next price tag for the Hill section. At £2,100 this ram was sold to Gillesbie Farms of Lockerbie.

A further two entries both sold for £2,000. The first was an entry from CJ & JM Symons of Attonburn, Kelso going to Messrs Dixon of Mowhaugh Farm, Kelso, whilst the other entry was shown by Sorbiestrees Farm of Newcastleton and goes to Messrs Symons of Attonburn.

Averages: 152 Hill rams £542.16, 125 Park rams £729.75, 277 rams £616.25.
