Dispersal of the Waterside House Holstein Herd
Wednesday 5th May 2010

A longstanding family tradition of owning and breeding good quality dairy cattle came to an end on Wednesday 5th May when Messrs Fairbairn, Waterside House, Alnmouth, Near Alnwick dispersed their Waterside House herd of Holsteins.

The herd has been entirely home bred for many years and developed using popular AI sires. Now that the cows and followers have been sold David and Ken will concentrate on their Arable, Beef and Holiday Cottage enterprises. The quality of the stock which combined excellent type and production coupled with sensible management was reflected in the excellent trade for all the animals from 9th calved cows to baby calves.
