and breeding sheep / Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their annual prize show and sale of 1150 Texel and other breeds of rams and breeding sheep at Kirkby Stephen Mart.

A fantastic show of Texel sheep were out to show in front of our judge Mr Joe Nattrass with all sheep being a credit to the breeders. The show was kindly sponsored by Tunstall Tractors and Abbotside Events. Mr Nattrass awarded the overall championship to a tremendous Texel Shearling rams consigned by Messrs Buckle, Buckles Farm, which later went on to sell for £1,200 to Messrs Dent, Naby View. The reserve rosette was awarded to a superb Texel Shearling gimmer consigned by Messrs Pedley, Yore House which sold for £340.

A larger show of breeding sheep were on offer with a packed ringside of prospective purchasers present ensuring a cracking trade was achieved with 415 more sheep sold on the year which reflex’s the increasing popularity of this sale year on year.
