and breeding sheep / At Broughton Market on Tuesday 24th August 2010 Harrison & Hetherington held their annual August Show and sale of store sheep.
A good show of sheep were submitted to a very large attendance of customers who bid freely at all classes and a lightly successful trade resulted with prices well in advance of vendors expectations.
The pre show judging was carried out by Mr David Thompson of Hawks Head who awarded the first and second prize ticket to M/s Whittaker of Salthouse.
Leading Shearling Gimmer prices:- Texel £120 Whetstone Croft, Greyfaced £108, £105, £102(x2), £100 Salthouse Farm, £98, £92(x2), £82 Whetstone Croft.
Leading Ewe prices:- Halfbred £48 Thwaite Farm.
Leading Store Sheep prices:- Texel £59.50 Knottend, £58.50 Millhouse, £55.50 Ghyll Farm, £54 Sella Farm, £50 Wha House Farm, Halfbred £59.50 Ellermere Farm, Suffolk £59 Sella Farm, £55 Hoses Farm, £55 Croglin Hurst, Charollais £50.50 Greenholm Farm.
