On Thursday Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their Annual Sale of Beef Breeding Cattle at Kirkby Stephen Mart when 402 head were on offer. The ringside was packed with prospective purchasers who came from country wide to witness a fantastic show of Beef Breeding Cattle put on offer to them.
Topping the sale at £2,800 was a fantastic Lim x Heifer with calf at foot consigned by M/s. Dickinson, High Knipe and purchased by M/s. Hudson, Izaac Walton Farm. An excellent trade for good quality outfits was achieved with buyers being very quality conscious. An outstanding show on in calf Heifers were forward with the quality of these being bad to beat. Topping this section at £2,020 was a fantastic Limousin Heifer consigned by M/s. Skidmore, Needless Hall and purchased by M/s. Brown, Asby Hall. An excellent average for in calf Heifers of £1,190.77 was achieved which was up £77.21 on the year with other averages being slightly down
