On Friday 22nd January Harrison & Hetherington held their January sale of Breeding cattle. A small show was submitted to a huge crowd of prospective purchasers and all classes were wonderful to sell, particularly in-calf heifers, which sold to a top of £1320 twice for a British Blue and a Limousin x from N & O Pattinson, The Flatt, Great Orton, and also a good run of British Blue heifers consigned by Messrs Reeday & Son, Manor Farm, Hetton, Skipton topping at £1280.
Top price of the day went to a superb young Limousin cow and calf outfit from Mrs R Stevenson, Howgill Foot, Kaber, Kirkby Stephen which sold for £2150. Heifers and calves topped at £1900 from Messrs CJ & AJ Owen, Ravenseat, Keld, Richmond.
