The annual show and sale for the Berrichon du Cher sheep society saw a total clearance of entries with buyers travelling from as far south as Devon to up in the Border hills.

The top price of the event was 600gns for the overall champion shown by Dumfriesshire breeder Ewan Burgess of the Criffel flock. This January 2008 born shearling ram, Criffel Isaac is a son of the top priced ram at the Carlisle Sale 2006 and went on to be Reserve Overall Champion Royal Highland Show 2007. He was successfully sold to Messrs Blake of Devon.
Leading the lamb ram section at 480gns was a February born lamb, Rakefoot Jackpot consigned by local breeders Messrs Cockbain & Sons of Keswick. Jackpot, a son of the Supreme Champion Three Counties Show 2004, lifted the reserve overall champion ticket and was knocked down to D Whitcher of Whenby, North Yorkshire.
Also reaching over the 400gn mark was another shearling ram from the Criffel pen of Ewan Burgess. Selling for 420gns, was Criffel Irving another son of the reserve overall champion from the Royal Highland Show in 2007. He sold to Tanlawhill Farms of Westerkirk, Langholm.
Averages – 4 shearling rams £425.25, 9 lamb rams £289.33, 1 shearling gimmer £210.00, 1 ewe lamb £199.50.
