Cuthill Towers lead the way
The first Northern National Ayrshire sale took place on Wednesday 14th October 2009 with a high quality entry and a packed ring saw prices top 2,400gns. The event had been kindly sponsored by Almins nutrition and Cattle Services of Ayr, with Archie Leach on hand to hand out the awards.

The show was judged by John Hunter from the Ardmore herd in Co. Antrim N. Ireland, he placed six classes with the Champion and Reserve both coming from the Junior Heifer in milk class. Theses two beauties were twin sisters sired by Hilltower Stanley Red, the Champion Cuthill Towers Lintie 57 and Reserve Cuthill Towers Lintie 58 from a VG85 dam sired by Cuthill Towers Prince Rubert. They were both bred and owned by A&S Lawrie Cuthill Towers, Milnathort, Kinross they sold for 2,100gns and 1,900gns respectively and now join the herd of DG Morgan & AD Hughes, Little Auchengibbertt, Logan, Cumnock.

A young calf born in May this year made the top price selling for 2,400gns. Bred and owned by Willy & Jo Templeton, Syke Farm, Mauchline. Syke Kellogg Sybil was sired by Blackaddar BB Kellogg from the Excellent 94 Indianhead Red Marker, Syke Indianhead Sybil that won the Royal show in 2000. She was purchased by Ayrshire enthusiast in Cornwall, Chris Creeper, Ashcroft, St Gennys, Bude.

Selling for 2,200gns was a bull from the Knowe herd of G&G Templeton, Knowe, Auchinleck, Cumnock. He was sired by Hidden Valley Garth and from the famous Willoxton Juda EX that won Agri Scot in 2004, he was purchased by J. Mcghie & Sons, Mid Threave, Kirkcowan, Newton Stewart.
DG Morgan & AD Hughes, Little Auchengibbertt, Logan, Cumnock purchased Cuthill Towers Zola 7 for 2,100gns. She was sired by Brieryside Centurian and was bred from a prolific line if Excellent and Very Good cows, she was consigned by A & S Lawrie Cuthill Towers Milnathort, Kinross.
D & C Alderson, Scorton Road Farm, South Cowton, Northallerton consigned two animals who were both from the Haresfoot Pamela 5 EX93 who was Supreme Champion at the Great Yorkshire Show in 2007. One daughter was freshly calved and sired by Hunnington Admiral and the other a maiden heifer sired by Yellow Briar Journalist. Both sisters sold for 2,000gns going to the Firm of W. Clark, Whins, Ecclefechan, Lockerbie and Mr. G Thomas, Tyreglwys Farm, Llangennech, Llanelli, Dyfed respectively.
