Restored, albeit controversially, to its “evening” status the Annual Autumn Dairy Bull Show and Sale at Borderway was a huge success.
Not only did it attract the best quality and variety of Holstein, Pure Friesian and blended bulls with awesome pedigrees for many years, the trade was terrific.

Four bulls made over 5000gns to a top of 6000gns. That bid secured for a T Forsyth, Isle Farm, Whithorn, the 20month old “Warnelview Impress”. Sired by Ladino Park Talent and from a VG87 (2yr) young “Irene” cow by Comestar Outside. He was just one of a greatly admired string of bulls from local top breeders KJ&CS Wilson of Thursby. “Warnelview Impress had earlier won the overall Champion under judge Richard Pilkington’s (Aintree herd) expert eyes.
Close behind, at 5800gns was a slightly younger son of Stardale Roberto and from a 14400kg 4.11% 3.13% Gelpro cow bred in Messrs Armour’s noted Annandale herd. The dam of Annandale Roberto is from the world famous Hope family tracing back to the EX95 Acme Triple Hope.

This black, stylish animal made 5700gns and carried many of the valuable attributes so in demand from dairy cattle buyers. Longevity and regular breeding, with production and high components, the dam and grand-dam both 13 lactation cows both giving over 10,000kg with 5% BF and up to 3.9% protein. He is bred from the Cinderella family by the Grove Breadwinner x Blossom sire Darleymoor Bruno.
The overall result of over 70% sold to average £2700 speaks for itself.
