110 PEDIGREE HOLSTEINS
Wednesday 12th August 2009
For J.P. Hall, Ashtree Farm, East Heddon, Newcastle Upon Tyne. NE15 0HE

The Ashpetall herd of pedigree Holstein cattle was dispersed in Borderway Mart, Carlisle on Wednesday 12th August 2009. The herd was owned by J.P. Hall from East Heddon, Newcastle, who since restocking in 2001 had developed a wonderful herd of cows. Prices for fresh and mid lactation cows were down from previous sales reflecting the slight uncertainty within the market place; however young stock prices remained very strong.

Top price was for a stylish young cow sired by Overside Augustus, Ashpetall Augustus Madigral VG87 sold for 1,900gns to SJ Ogden Pears Ghyll, Calthwaite Penrith. Her Gillette Final Cut daughter born in March sold to the Bridgend for 850gns.

Second top price was 1,650gns paid by AW Dixon West Heddon Farm, she was sired by a son of Picston Shottle and was sister to the top price animal.

Selling for 1,620gns was a fancy young heifer sired by Carp-Pyr Basar Brad she was classified VG86 from an Excellent 93 Dixie-Lee Aaron dam, she now joins the herd of A Bargh, Woodclose, Skelton, Penrith.

Peter Hall would like to wish everyone who purchased animals much success and also would like to thank those who attended the sale.
