The reduction sale for the Linstockcastle herd for Messrs. G. Wannop & Son took place at Borderway Mart, Carlisle on Wednesday 1st July 2009.

The animals selling where an unselected group of recently calved cows and heifers all giving high volumes of milk. The sale was well supported by local dairy producers with the top price going to A&E Johnston & Sons, Cote House Farm, Wetheral. He paid 2,150gns for a daughter of Sikkema-Star-W Modesto calved at the beginning of May.
Second top price was 2,100gns for a Mascol daughter; she had only been calved eleven days and now joins the herd of M Reid&Sons, Fulton, Waterbeck, Lockerbie. One of the stars of the sale had to be Linstockcastle Brad Angela she was sired by Carp-Pyr Basar Brad. She had an almost perfect udder and now joins the herd of N&SJ Sanderson, Burtholme Farm, Lanercost, Brampton for 2,050gns.
Top price cow was sold for 2,000gns to MJ Wilson, Gate Farm, Uldale, Wigton. She was a Roylane Jordan giving 37kg freshly calved on the 14th May. In total six super Roylane Jordan’s sold all with fancy udders.
