Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their Annual Spring Sale of working & unbroken Sheepdogs and puppies at Lazonby Mart on Wednesday 13th May 2009.
Forty six dogs were forward the majority of which were young dogs partly broken.
The event is gaining in popularity with customers from Ireland, Scotland, and all the Northern Counties of England present.
Top price was achieved early in the sale by Mr D Walton, Kirkby Stephen who’s Black, White & Tan Dog, 2 years 4 months sold for 1500gns.
Two Dogs sold at 1200gns, firstly Jeans Howes, Wolsingham with a Black & White Dog, 17 months followed by Mr M Westgarth, Helton with a 4 year old Black & White Dog.
Two Dogs made 1000gns Mr A E Dalgleish, Hethersgill with a 19 months old Black & White Dog and Mr G Hunt, Gayles with another Black & White Dog, 2 years 5 months.
Prices for young Dogs included 950gns for a 13 month old Black & White Dog from Mr M Woods, Lathom. Another 18 month old Dog from Mr Stevenson, Northern Ireland sold at 750gns. Puppies at 6 months old from Mr R J Howatson, Corrie sold at 70gns and 50gns.
