Harrison and Hetherington held their annual April Fair at Lockerbie Auction Mart on Tuesday 22nd April 2008.

A marvellous show of 1013 store cattle sold extremely well with a massive attendance of buyers at the ring side.

At the pre sale show the judge Mr J Reid awarded the Championship to Messrs WJ Irving & Son of Burnside, Dalbeattie for an eleven month old Charolais bullock which later sold for £880.

The Reserve Champion was awarded to Messrs Nairn of Cumleys, Nethermill for a Limousin bullock which sold for £700.

Out with the show cattle bullocks sold to £920 for a pen of Limousins from Messrs W Walker & Son of Lammonbie and to 185.3p/kg for Limousin bullocks from Messrs JA Vevers of Chapelhills, Waterbeck.

Heifers sold to £870 for a Limousin from Messrs J&D Glendinning of Bridge End, Eastriggs and to 168.4p/kg for five Charolais from Mr A McGregor of Relief, Ecclefechan.

556 bullocks averaged 149.3p/kg and 457 heifers averaged 142.1p/kg
