At Broughton Auction Harrison & Hetherington held their special sale of cattle and sheep on Tuesday 3rd June.

All classes of stock met a very strong trade throughout, especially for breeding cattle with a Limousin cow and calf unit selling up to £2,000 consigned by GD Tyson of Scale Hook Farm, Haws Lane.

Leading prices – Breeding cattle: cows with calves at foot: Limousin £2,000, £1,350, £1,180, £1,000, £980, £950 Hook Farm Lane; £950, £930 (x2), £920, £900, £880, £820 Folds Farm.

Store Cattle – Heifers, Limousin, £710, £640 Greenbank.

Ewes & Lambs – Greyfaced, £28.50 Blackhall Farm. Texel, £27 Blackhall Farm. Swaledale, £20 Wood House Farm.
