A Royal Highland Show reserve champion attracted the joint top price at the annual Berrichon du Cher sheep society show and sale at Borderway.

Male and Supreme Champion shown by Robert Graham of Strathallan Flock and sold for 500gns

Scottish breeder, Ewan Burgess from the Criffel flock based just outside Dumfries, secured the joint top selling prices of 650gns. A homebred shearling ram, Criffel Hugh already has show winning credits to his name from lifting the 2007 reserve male championship and the 2008 reserve male championship both taken at the Royal Highland Show. He now joins the renowned Grahams flock for Robert Graham of Airthrey Kerse, Stirling.

Four lots later the second 650gn bid was taken by Woodston Manor Partnership of Tenbury Wells, Worcester. Their February 2007 born shearling ram, Woodston Hunter is by the breed record price ram. He goes just over the border in Dumfriesshire to the Criffel flock for Ewan Burgess.

The days supreme champion, shown by Messrs Graham of Airthrey Kerse, Stirling was knocked down to 500gns and goes to the judge Mr John Bowman of Kirkoswald, Penrith. This home bred lamb was 1st prize lamb ram at the Royal Highland Show earlier in the season.
