Wade’s Lord produces an Almighty top price of 10,000gns

Southern Irish breeder Wade McCrabbe from the Ardstewart flock based near Co. Donegal achieved the top price of 10,000gns at the Society Premier show and sale at Carlisle. Ardstewart Lord Almighty a February 2007 born shearling ram, a son of Brickrow Jack of All Trades and bred from a Tullygarley sired mother, attracted hugh interest. Used as a stock ram through the Ardstewart flock in 2007, this extremely well muscled ram caught the eye of five noted breeders, namely Mrs Doreen Mair of the Aviemore Flock, Stuart Wood of the Woodies flock, also fellow breeders P & A Kenyon, Turriff, I & H Anderson, Turriff, and local enthusiasts Thomas and James Whiteford of Brampton.

Supreme Champion, shearling gimmer shown by Neale & Janet McQuiston and sold for 6,000gns to P & A Moss for their Holmebeck flock

Leading the female section at 6,000gns from the Thursday evening selling was a gimmer from the Airyolland flock of Neale and Janet McQuiston from Newton Stewart. Already this lady has show credit to her recognition as she was placed 2nd in her class at this years Royal Highland Show. She is also full sister to the noted stock ram Airyolland Kingsize. She now joins the Holmebeck flock of Messrs P & A of Ewebank Farm, Barnard Castle.
